SKS Rifle
Of course, for most people, the SKS rifle is the best prepper rifle, except for current and former SAMGS (Sailors, Airmen, Marines, Guardians (Coasties) and Soldiers) because you don't need to purchase 10, 20, or 30 expensive and fragile magazines ($10.49, $11.83, or ...)

Plus, you only have one choice for the barrels twist rate and one or two weights of bullets.

M-16A2
Needless to say, some folks aren't going to listen to my (misguided?) suggestions, so I need to provide an article of two, maybe three, about the M-16A2 rifle.
