Since I have gotten on a kick, of spending your money, I figured I'd make another suggestion or two.

Bucket Opener
Like a bung wrench, you can do it the cheap inexpensive way by using a flat-head screwdriver.

Or, ...

You can do it the slightly expensive way.

And, ...

Possibly save the lid, so you can reuse the lid, to reseal the bucket.

Not this one because you really need a rubber mallet to easily seal/reseal a plastic 5-gallon bucket.
