Why Prepare?
Earlier this week, I received a telephone call from my credit union's fraud department. It seems my credit/debit card was compromised.

They found this out when a purchase was made, at a China-Mart, in a distant city. Ouch.

Of course, after they called me, the credit/debit card was closed.

Well, ... Like most people, I use my credit/debit card for most of my purchases, so it was an disaster event for me especially when I found out about it in the grocery store checkout line.

Emergency Fund
When my card was denied, I asked the young man bagging to set the loaded bags at the customer service counter then I left the store to get my emergency fund at the apartment home away from home.

Needless to say, I could have gone out to the car to use some of my emergency cash; I keep for ... emergencies ; - )

Food Storage
Of course, I really didn't need the groceries because I could have eaten from my food storage for the next few weeks, until I returned home ; - )

Something is Missing
Notice, ... I didn't need any of my tactical gear ; - )
