Friday's Thoughts and Other Stuff (Finances)

Dear Peppers and Survivalists,

Thursday
As I write this, our elected representatives are debating whether to continue funding the government or shutting some of it down.

Needless to say, they are handing out borrowed money, left and right, to entice reluctant Senators and Representatives to vote for the respective bills, which the President will sign.

So, ...

As James Kunstler says, 'Welcome to the Long Emergency.'

Stocks
I had a few links for you then I started looking around. It seems different folks have different ideas about what's going on these last few days and what to do about it.

Some folks suggest, Sale, Sale, Sale!

Other folks suggest, Hold, Hold, Hold!

While other suggest, Buy, Buy, Buy!

Me?

I suggest you look at your long-term goals because you might want to sale, hold, and buy.

Let me explain.

First, if you didn't reallocate, at the beginning of the year. You can still do that today because you would be at the same spot you where at the beginning of the year.

In other words, you sale some of your financial holdings.

Second, you don't give into fear because you have a long time frame on your 401K, IRA, or other long-term financial holdings.

In other words, you hold on to your current financial holdings.

Third, you look at the good solid companies that have been consistently paying dividends, in good times and bad times, that have taken a hit and purchase the inexpensive ones, such as Procter and Gamble, Johnson & Johnson, and several others.

In other words, buy some stock.

Lastly, ...

Understand that you and your family are facing a potential economic crisis that has no financial hiding place. That you and your family could lose all of your investments, savings, and other financial holding, as you are reading these words.

So, ...

Make sure you and your family have a secure shelter, renewable water supply, long-term food storage, and all the other things that I have suggested over the years, here at GSiEP.

I Apologize
For some reason, I'm having difficulty importing pictures into GSiEP, so until I get that figured out. We are are going ol' school.
