An used (there are no 'new,' just new-like condition) SKS rifle costs around $400. Even when you buy them by the crate ; - (

While an AR-15 rifle, a Ford or Chevy model, from Bushmaster will set you back about $700. Add in the cost for magazines; get the 30-rounders, from Brownells; will cost you $99.99 for a ten pack.

So, ... Money wise, it's a no brainer. Get the SKS rifle for your defensive rifle.

Yugoslavian SKS Rifle
During tough times, you and your family may not be able to obtain high quality ammunition for your rifles. This means you may have to settle for corrosive ammunition.

Not a big deal, as long as you properly clean your rifle.

Or, ... Have a rifle with a chrome chamber and bore. Something the Yugoslavian SKS rifles lack ; - (

That's why I like the Chinese SKS rifle because they have a chrome chamber and bore.
