Several days ago, The Atlantic ran a story. A story about many things, how the possibility of nuclear war never really went away; even through, we thought it had; how these United States government planned to survive a nuclear war; and ...
With that said, I disagree with the article's characterization of government efforts to protect the citizens of these United States, the futility of preparing to survive a large scale nuclear attack, and other issues, such as failing to mention that a nationwide shelter program with pre-stocked supplies would save millions of people.

Charlottesville
During the same time period, several days ago, The Atlantic ran a fictional story about a nuclear attack on these United States. In the story, Charlottesville, Virginia is spared a direct hit from a nuclear weapon.
