Consequences
As we are seeing, in the classic and new media, folks are attacking the president, his policies, and his supporters. They are using insults, threats, and physical attacks in these attacks.
In the mainstream media, they are (it seems) highlighting every setback handed to the new administration, especially on 'controversial' issues. You can see this in the recent immigration decision by the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
In the new media, folks are advocating punching the president's supports, promoting riots to disrupt daily life, and calling for the President's assassination. The new media is also highlighting fake news, such as the Russian spy ships off the east coast. (That has been happening since the 1950s)
Of course, these actions, like any other action, have consequences.
These consequences might be minor. A law will be proposed and probably passed making it illegal to wear a mask during protest marches and demonstrations. Thus, the law will one day be applied to children wearing a mask during Halloween.
So, ... We will have less privacy and less freedom.
Some of these consequences will be major, such as the growing lack of distrust of the national and local classic media.
Long ago, I turned off television news programs. I no longer watch The MacNeil/Lehrer NewsHour, Nightly Business Report, or any of the news programs from ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, BBC, CNBC, and their local affiliates. I did this for several reasons.
First, the 'If it bleeds, it leads' attitude of the stations. The first few minutes, it seems, were always about the same area of town and the same group of people.
Second was the bias. Protests during the last administration were characterized, at least by me, as unpatriotic, unamerican, and unhelpful. Protest during the current administration have been highlighted as confronting evil, preventing evil, and battling evil.
Third, the classic media failed to hold our political leaders accountable for their actions, especially if they were members of the former president's party or were appointed by the president.
Lastly, the national and local news programs have, for too long, been pushing
Needless to say, these reasons are held by others, so they 'turn-off' the media, driving down profits and forcing major media to shutter their windows and doors. Major media that we will need to inform us about tough times when it arrives in our country, state, and city.
Or, ... The major media, as we are seeing, tilts more to the left, promoting their causes, causing our country to become more divided and unwilling to talk about the problems facing our country, such a peak oil, illegal immigration, corporate control of politics, manufacturing/trade, and, yes, global climate change.

Things You Might Want to Think About
The Great Game
Many years ago, some 19th century diplomat called diplomacy a Great Game. A game that powerful countries play to make the world a better place.
The only problem, ... Some folks, including writers, make mistakes.
Joy Villa
If you haven't heard, a bunch of folks suggested that actors and actresses get political at the Grammys, last week.
Well, ... It seems a young lady created quite a stir that those folks hadn't anticipated.
Obama-O-Care
It seems some Republicans are socialists.
Shaming
Let me see, a reporter calls the First Lady a hooker, and the reporter still has a job with the New York Times.
Double Standard?
Solutions
For me, it's promising that researchers and government officials are thinking outside the box, kind'a, for solutions to on-coming events. The only problem, the solutions have too much complexity.
Friends
You and your family need friends; before, during, and after an event; because they are going to be there to help, just like you will help them.
Remember, you can't do this (survive the tough times ahead) alone.
Wow!!!
I didn't know that!!!
Overheard
"Don’t be fooled by the idiotic exertions of the Red team and the Blue team. They’re just playing a game of “Capture the Flag” on the deck of the Titanic. The ship is the techno-industrial economy. It’s going down because it has taken on too much water (debt), and the bilge pump (the oil industry) is losing its mojo."
"But your targets do."
“I’m struggling to think of something funny to say, as all comedians are,” he admits. “I hate liberals who say: ‘I’m leaving the country.’ Oh, like it’s going to matter. You’re not that important, go ahead. But the only thing I can think that’s positive is that a new kind of anarchy is going to happen next.”
"The Right's speech is violence, but the Left's violence is speech. That's the Current Narrative."
"The two camps are different peoples. Half of the country seems culturally dominated from the ghetto. The other half embodies standards of behavior that have usually been thought congruent with civil society."
"... don't focus on retiring comfortably; focus on working comfortably"
"We need to start hiring police that will do the job right, and also fire and hold personally liable cops who cross the line. It's a hard job.. but the best and brightest can be found."
