I walk through the local charity stores about once a month. Sometimes I find a bargain, sometimes I don't.

I found one the other day. It is a stainless steel thermos by Stanley.
Now, this is a 'special' thermos. It's a wide mouth thermos, so it's easy to clean.
And, ...
Unlike the glass (the inner liner), this thermos has a stainless steel liner, so its almost indestructible.
However, ...
It needed a good cleaning, so I grabbed a towel then started to scrub, inside and out. The inside was groody with dried coffee, but it cleaned up, after I grabbed the dish washing sponge, soaked the thermos with water for a few tens of minutes, used a spoon to push the sponge around the bottom, and rinsed and rinsed, some more.
In other words, ...
My $4.31 and a little effort was well spent.
Why, Why, Why?
Of course, you have every right to ask me, 'Why did you purchase this groody thermos?'
