This will be the last Friday post, for this year, so I would like to be the first to make some predictions about next year.

First, ...

We are going to face personal challenges, in 2019.

On a personal scale, you, your partner, and your family are going to face natural disasters. The hurricanes, winter storms, flooding, tornadoes, and all the other natural events that happened this year will happen again. Plus, we may have to face other less common natural disasters.

You and your family are going to have to deal with human-made events, too, because some of us are going to have car crashes, lose our homes, get divorced, have a workplace accident, be involved in an armed robbery, and all the other common daily disasters, big and small, that happened this year..

Second, ...

On a collective scale, we are also going to face some problems, in 2019.

Financially, these United States is in debt. As a country, we owe $21,000,000,000,000 to ourselves and others.  That 21 trillion dollars is 150% of what our country produces, every year.

Our families are in debt, too. Some of us owe large college debts, huge credit card debts, and expensive medical debt. Let us remember, this debt also includes our homes and automobiles. Taken together, our citizens owe $12,800,000,000,000 that is almost as much as our country produces in one year.

Politically, we have the Democrats taking control of the House of Representatives, on January 3rd, 2109. The Republicans controlling the Senate, and the President is still a Republican. This can be trouble.

If you believe the Democrats, I do, we can expect to see a lot of gun-control freedom-control measures being presented and voted on, in the House of Representatives. Some, if not many, will be passed and presented to the Senate. Depending on the measure, I predict, they will be passed and presented to the President for his signature.

What these measures will be, you and I can guess; magazine bans, ammunition prohibitions, coercing manufactures and lenders, so-called safe storage laws, registration, repair parts embargoes, implementing or increasing taxes, so-called Red-Flag laws, and many more for those with an imagination.

Some of these freedom-control measures will allow us to keep our ammunition, magazines, firearms, holographic and telescopic sights, and repair parts, for now, but they will cause prices to dramatically increase. These price increases will make it difficult, if not impossible, for new shooters to get started in the shooting sports.

Sad to say, but ... To keep our Rights, we need more people in the shooting sports. We can't do that with high prices for firearms, ammunition, repair parts, and magazines.

Needless to say, this blog is for people getting prepared for the tough times ahead, so what can you and your family do?

Individually and as a Family, ...

Do the simple things. Have proper insurance coverage for your health, your home, your vehicle, and your family. Spend less than you earn then save and invest wisely. Get physically fit, eat healthy, and enjoy your life and family. Reduce your debt or eliminate it. Teach your children about the important things in life. Lastly, get a kit, make a plan, be informed.

For those folks that are willing, you can do other things too.

You and your partner can purchase more food, the regular bagged, bottled, boxed, canned, and frozen food your family normally eats. I suggest a three month supply, stored in a cool, dry place.

Your family can purchase some silver and gold, I suggest U.S. Silver Eagle or Canadian Maple Leaf coins. These coins should be stored in your home or business, in a safe and secure place.

You can purchase additional standard 20 and 30-round magazines for your rifles, 15 and 17-round magazines for your pistols, and full metal jacket and semi-jacketed hollow points of your long guns and handguns. Some families may want to accelerate certain purchases such as holographic or telegraphic sights, body armour, and other purchases. For families with more disposable cash, you might purchase semiautomatic rifles, handguns, and precision bolt action or semi-automatic rifles

Collectively, as a Nation, ...

You and I need to get politically involved, starting today, this means writing those e-mails and letters, running for local, state, and national office, and getting more people involved with the shooting sports.

Every year, I ask for the same thing, World Peace, but I never get it.

Oh, ... Well.

However, my family usually provides me with something close, like this year. This Christmas, I received a British Gortex Jacket for my emergency bag at work.

Needless to say, ...

My 'work' bag goes with me everywhere.

What's in it?

You will have to wait and see.


Camoflauge
Now, military or civilian camo is a poor choice for preppers, ... In some situations.

Think about it.

Whenever you see someone wearing camoflauge, you immediately think Prepper!!!

And, ...

Everybody knows, preppers are armed. They either have a knife, a concealed handgun, or a rifle nearby. Plus, they have a so-called Bugout Bag with all kinds of goodies.

Where as, ....

If you see a business man or woman with a backpack or satchel, you think ... paperwork and maybe ... lunch. The same with someone dressed as a student; except, think textbooks and ... lunch.

Now, ...

Add in a rough day, say after an EMP attack, large scale cyber event, or CME striking Earth, who do you think is going to be attacked first?


But!, ... But!!, ... But!!!
I have a British Gortex Jacket in my bag because it's inexpensive, the camo pattern matches my area of these United States, and ... I don't worry about getting attacked because I live in a so-called good area where everybody else wears some kind of camoflauge.

So, ...

I don't standout in a rainstorm walking down the street with my Class Three yellow safety vest
