Friday's Thoughts and Other Stuff
Dear Preppers and Survivalists,
Visibility
Depending on the situation, you may or may not want to be seen, take being lost in the woods.
Once you realize that you're lost, Stop! Don't move unless you and your family will be in danger in that spot.
Next, you need to build a shelter and a fire, especially if it's getting dark.
Next, start figuring out ways to be seen by rescuers.
One way of doing that is by building a fire
During the day, you will want your fire to be as smokey as possible, and during the night, you want your fire to be as bright as possible.
Another way of signaling possible rescuers is by flashing them with shiny pieces of metal or mirror
The last method, I'm going to mention is waving bright pieces of cloth, especially if they are large pieces of bright cloth such as hunting/safety vests.
Note:
Since this little blurb is about visibility, I won't mention the two or three methods of getting a rescuer's attention using an audible signal, like blowing a whistle, shooting three time, from a firearm, in a row. I will also not mention that shouting only works for a very short time because your 'voice' starts to wear out.
