Weekly Dose of Doom and Gloom

Welcome Preppers and Survivalists,

War and Rumours of War
The first article I'd like to point out to y'all, I found at BlackListed News. The title says that Iran was able to blind a satellite, last week. Destroying a satellite's ability to see, much less attacking a satellite, could escalate the conflict with Iran.

Needless to say, the title of the article grabbed my attention, but the title was screwed up. The satellite in the article is really a drone.

A sigh of relief because attacking a satellite would be a heck of a lot bigger development in the conflict with Iran. 'Killing' satellites would mean that all of us, just not these United States, could possibly lose satellite based technology such as communication broadcasts for our televisions and radios.

But,

The ability, if true, to hijack unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) is also troubling. These United States and many other countries would lose the ability to properly operate these remote controlled aircraft. All kinds of things could happen. Pilots would be put into danger, the aerial vehicle could possibly be used against their own citizens, and/or someone could start the cyborg apocalypse

Communications
In an article from Daily Finance, Bruce Watson reports that one group thinks only four major daily newspapers will be in print circulation in the next five years.

Most folks could care less, but there's a problem.

Newspapers, especially national newspapers, provide an easy to access (all you need is the ability to read and enough light to see) information source for international and national news.

Financial
I hasten to link to this article, found at Daily Finance, because I believe there is a difference between investment and prepping finances.

But, the article does list some potential difficulties in the year ahead for you and your family to consider adding to your threat analysis.

PS.
I especially like the "Don't just expect things to go wrong -- be prepared"
